Improv (Week 6)

Starlight scope Myopia – Yusef Komunyakaa

Making night work for us,
I sent you to grab your coat,
     wouldn’t want to worry mom.

Black glow of a new moon
Teased us along trails, over the
slithering creek in the back woods.

We bobbed along, line and tackle
Dangling behind you like bells.
We tossed stories and fish hooks

into the blankness of the lake.
So that you would have memories
Of the times we spent together.
